Father's Day

After getting back from camping on Sunday we went to an early dinner with Russ's dad. We went to Roundhouse Grill in Livermore. It was formally known as Fire & Ice. Its a nice concept, its like a salad bar where you get to pick whatever you want then you take it to the grill and they grill it up for you. I think it was very expensive $18 for unlimited grill. But I guess its not too bad considering they had a bunch of seafood.

They did have some very good drinks! I had a watermelon mojito and it was very good!

I'm not sure we will be going back for dinner. Maybe for Happy Hour or brunch but there is no way I'm pay $18 for dinner.

Uvas Camping

Friday after work we picked my sister up at Bart and headed down to Morgan Hill to go camping at Uvas. We found this place 2 years ago, and we love it! Its small, has some nice trails and is very quiet. I would say about only 1/3 the place was full.

(Setting up camp)

(No one else wanted to drink wine with me )

My dad headed down before us and was nice enough to set up our tent for us, We got down there and the sky was black from the fires! The next morning we woke up with a bunch of ashes on the cars.

(Ready for our hike)

Saturday morning we wait for the rest of the group to get there then we took off for a hike. We hiked a little over 3 miles, and saw some nice waterfalls. After our hike we headed back to camp and for the rest of the evening we drank beer, played cards and ate way too much food!

Denver

Russ and I went to Denver for a conference for work. We flew out on Wednesday getting there early enough to do some walking around. Thursday we were in class all day.

Friday we skipped out on the morning session and took a bus to Golden. In Golden we went on a tour of the Coors Brewing Factory. We had to hurry so we could get back in time for the afternoon workshops. The last workshop was for "Under 40's" since most of our profession is 60+ year old men. It was interesting to meet VERY successful Business Brokers who are under 40. Then we were off to a Happy Hour with them followed by the Colorado Rockies game.

Saturday we had workshops all day. The lunch was very interesting, the speaker was Bob Gray who is in the Guiness Book of World Records for memory and being able to write forward, backward, backwards upside down, and upside down as a mirror with his left hand, right hand, and both of his feet! He was very entertaining! Saturday night we went to a nice dinner and had some really good steaks. After dinner we went back to the bar at our hotel, it was on the 27th floor and had amazing views of the city and moutains.

Sunday before we had to catch our shuttle we walked to the Capital and stood on the step that is exactly "1 mile above sea level."

It was a good trip, I would have loved to stay longer and been able to see Vail, oh well maybe next time!
